Dave’s Corner of the World

Posts

Hi, I’m Dave.

My mission in life is creating intentional communites. This blog isn’t “about” anything in particular, but it potentially is about everything. I created this space to write without boundaries or pre-defined categories. Just writing to see where it goes.

Dave’s Idea Box

Here are a few topics you might find me writing about (no promises). Mainly, I’m listing them here as a way of organizing potential ideas. If I were to put together a list of major idea categories, this is my initial gut reaction. All of this is of course subject to change.

Self-Accountability

I’ve found that relying on other people to “hold us accountable” usually doesn’t work long-term.

Teachability

I hope to do my part to break our barbaric habit of hoarding knowledge to maintain control.

Spreadsheet Applications

Excel can be used for pretty much anything, including motivation and mental health.

Cult-Proofing

A core component of my mission is neutralizing manipulative tactics commonly employed by cult leaders and thieves.

Political Depolarization

The two-party system is one example of how leaders pit people against each other to prevent rebellion. Notice the similarity to fan groups of rival teams.

Transmutation of Evil

Rather than trying to abolish or outlaw bad behavior, my theory is based on using emotional alchemy to restore people and groups to their authentic forms.

Random Stuff To Fill This Page

The WordPress template had some boxes of text and I wasn’t sure what to put in them. So here we are.

Portuguese Coast

I took this photo on the coast of Portugal near Lisbon. Photos don’t really do it justice. I was there for work, between 2005 and 2007.

“Chaos”

I drew this circa 1997, during a period when I was working third shift and would sometimes have time to kill while waiting for automated machines to run.

“Seek, above all, for a game worth playing. Such is the advice of the oracle to modern man. Having found the game, play it with intensity; play as if your life and sanity depended on it. (They do depend on it.)”
